Bill and Georgia Seeney from Ray White Livestock Longreach have provided us with a market report from their cattle sale yesterday, Wednesday 30 March 2011.
Longreach once again proves it is the place to sell fat cattle. With a yarding of 2800 head in the misty rain the job moves from strength to strength. Quality lines of Bullocks presented sold to extreme meatworks competition. Santa Gertrudis Bullocks from Middleton district sold to 192.6 to return $1050/head. The Cow market is still holding firm along with the Bullocks. Feeder Steers 400kg+ are in high demand with lot feeders with the top making 197c/kg. A strong local buying panel pushed the Store Steers to new heights, 300kg+ Steers selling to 221 to stay local. A good yarding of Feeder and Restocker Heifers sold to very solid competition, best of the Feeder Heifers sold to 200c/kg. A larger yarding of Cows and Calves met a buoyant market with young Cows and Calves selling to $907.50, aged Brahman Cows made to $850/unit……
