ROMA STORE SALE MARKET REPORT

A total of 6200 head of cattle were yarded at Roma’s final store sale of the year. Prices were mixed for steers, but heifers gained 1 to 15 cents on last week’s rates.Roma’s Store Market Index held firm at 108.3 points from 107.6 points last week.

Steers in the 400 to 550kg range topped at 197 cents and averaged 181c/kg (+4), steers in the 350-400kg range topped at 198c/kg and averaged 182c/kg (-7), while steers in the 280 to 350kg range topped at 217c/kg and averaged 190c/kg (-2).

Steers in the 220-280kg range topped at 224c/kg and averaged 185c (-5), while weaner steers under 220kg made 230c/kg and averaged 206c (+2).

Heifers in the 350 to 450kg range topped at 182c and averaged 161c (0), while those in the 280 to 350kg category made 184c and averaged 172c (+1).

Weaner heifers in the 220 to 280kg range made 201c and averaged 173c (+8), and those under 220kg topped at 200c and averaged 181c (+15).

Cows in the 300-400kg range topped at 138c/kg and averaged 121c/kg (-1), while cows in the 400-500kg range topped at 167c/kg and averaged 135c/kg (-5).

Bulls up to 400kg topped at 180c/kg and averaged 153c/kg (+18), bulls 400 to 600kg reached 154c/kg and averaged 150c/kg (+9).

Cows and calves topped at $850/unit and averaged $633.
